Sustainable Forest Management |

The trend in forest resource management in Malaysia (as well as in other tropical countries) now and in the future will be to conserve, manage and protect the remaining tracts of land under permanent forests under the principle of sustainable forest management (SFM). Such inevitability is understandable given the increasingly enlightened public and timber product consumers in the more developed country.
The planning and implementation of sustainable production of forest crops and other forest resources and uses. Key decisions include land allocation to different uses or combination of uses, silvicultural method and practices, intensity of management, timber harvest scheduling, and environmental protection.

Several large and fast-flowing rivers run along and form natural boundaries for the northern and eastern perimeters of the concession area. The high densities of river and stream network inside the three major watersheds of Singor, Sengoh and Talong signify the need for meticulous of water flow and soil stabilization measures.

Temengor Base Camp located within the Perak ITC concession area which around 10 km from outside (West/East Highway) or take around 30-40 minutes ride by 4WD vehicle. There are several facilities in the camp which is built to cater the employees and the company contractors. This facility is well equip with accommodation, office, wash room, utilities and store room which is well kept at all time. Currently Perak ITC is upgrading and building new facilities due to the increasing number of employees and visitors.

Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP)
Non-Timber Forest Products such as Rattan has been given to Orang Asli for harvesting as part of our social program for the Orang Asli. Opening of roads and trails has provide accessibility to extract this product.
